"Art can transform lives. It gives us power to question, to confront, to explore, and to challenge how we think about the world."
We write songs and play in bands. We draw and paint and sketch. We dance and mime and improvise. We act and sing and tell stories. We build sets and record music. We use our imagination to become empathetic and critically thinking citizens of the world. "Bit by bit, putting it together ... Piece by piece, only way to make a work of art. Every moment makes a contribution Every little detail plays a part. Having just the vision's no solution, Everything depends on execution, Putting it together, that's what counts." -- Stephen Sondheim
This is the webpage for students, parents and the arts community. Here you will find classroom resources, performance details, helpful links and information about what we do.
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." -- Pablo Picasso
In grade 9, students have a choice between instrumental music and visual art. There is a third option for those looking to explore multiple streams within the arts (such as dance, music, drama, visual art or media) called comprehensive arts. It is available in English or French.
10th grade students can choose to continue instrumental music or visual art classes or pursue a new course of study in guitar, drama or dance -- three separate classes that start at the very beginning and prepare you for life-long learning in that area.
Extra credit options are available as extracurricular activities such as concert band, musical theatre and play production and yearbook. These courses will earn you a credit and take place outside of your regularly timetabled schedule.
